Jon E. Martens, CFM, CFMJ, IFMA Fellow has more than 35 years of in-depth and diverse facilities experience. He currently manages facilities for the County of Sonoma in California with teams in all aspects of operations, maintenance and construction activities within the Facility Operations Division of General Services.
Mr. Martens is an active member of IFMA. He is one of the founding officers of the Redwood Empire Chapter in 1999, serving initially as President, and continues to be an active member of their board over the years with other positions such as Past President, Vice President of Programs, Vice President of Membership, President and he is currently serving once again as past chapter President. He has presented to numerous IFMA, SAME and BOMA regional conferences in addition to IFMA World Workplace conferences on many topics within the Facilities Management arena. He has conducted seminars and presentations to companies and groups on the dimensions and challenges facing facilities professionals. In addition to his public speaking and lectures, Jon is an IFMA-certified instructor and among his instructional talents with other IFMA courses, is internationally known for his expertise in facilitating the FMP and competency courses as well as the CFM Exam Review Course.
He is the author of the CFM Study Guide, first published in August 2004. He has authored, co-authored, and been the consultant subject matter expert for numerous seminar development, college courses, and instructional materials for organizations in the facilities profession. Mr. Martens was inducted into IFMA’s Fellows as class of 2008 in Dallas, Texas at their World Workplace International Convention, in October 2008. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin and conducted studies on his MBA at St. Ambrose University.
